Sorry for the delay.  It’s a bit harder to post daily now that we don’t have internet in our room anymore.  Keeping up with Molly is making it a bit challenging as well.  Now, where was I...Oh yes!

Last Days in Wuhan

Friday was our last full day in Wuhan.  We thought we would try to go to the mall in the morning so that our outing would not interfere with nap time.  We left right after breakfast and started the 20+ minute walk to the mall.  We made it about one block with no success.   Molly must have eaten too much for breakfast and the jostling in the baby carrier caused her to jet puke all over Scott.   Talk about being initiated to parenthood fast!

After our failed attempt and the cleanup that followed, Scott and I opted to have lunch in the restaurant.  We should have checked that out earlier in the week instead of trying to venture out.  They had an extensive baby menu as well.  The hotel caters to adoptive parents as it is close to the Civil Affairs Office.  There were 3 American couples and a Dutch family that were also adopting this week.  (Funny - they all got boys.)  We had a decent lunch and Scott brought his leftovers to have for dinner.

After nap time, Christina arrived to take us back to the Civil Affairs Office to pick up Molly’s passport.  I was not looking forward to that trip again.  Molly got upset but not as bad as Monday and Tuesday.    It was a short visit and we were back to the hotel within no time.  We thought we would take the opportunity to get to the grocery store since Molly seemed to be feeling alright.  That was an adventure in itself.  I have a new appreciation for Scott going there alone on two separate occasions.  Not many of the locals speak English in Wuhan.  We picked up a few things and headed back to the hotel.  We got some dinner and went back to the room to get Molly organized for bed.

We had a great night.  No tears and we even played in the tub.  We put a swim diaper on her and let her go to town – fully clothed.  It was a lot of fun.   Molly is a bit of a nighthawk and didn’t go to sleep until after 9pm.  She never stirred and slept through the night.  She got up in the morning and again no tears! That’s PROGRESS!

Saturday we packed up and headed to the airport.  Our flight was at 2:30pm.  It was uneventful – Molly slept the whole flight.  We arrived in Beijing and met up Joan at the arrival gate. She brought us to the van where the Seto Family was waiting.  They arrived back from Jiangsu shortly before we did and were waiting in the van with Jordan.  They seemed to have a good week with him and were certainly more adventurous than we were.  It was late and we were starving so we grabbed some dinner and met up with Joan in the lobby to complete some more paperwork.  We got back up to the room to get Molly settled and then it happened.  She wouldn’t go to bed.  It was very late again and she got over tired.  She had a bad night and woke up several times.  She was very restless and wouldn’t settle.  My heart breaks for her.  I can’t wait until we are home and things are more consistent.
