Today, we met up with our guide, Joan, and went to the Temple of Heaven. It’s an amazing religious temple structure that was build 6oo years ago by decree from Emperor Yongle to pray for good harvests by sacrificing an animal – usually a cow. The temple is surrounded by a huge park filled with cypress and juniper trees. Many of the locals gather there to play cards, sing and even dance. It looked a lot like line dancing. Our guide told us that they also have Tai Chi groups in the park. It was so peaceful and quiet there. It seemed odd in a city with 20 million people, that there are still some places that you can get away from the crowds. Clearly my kind of place!

Looks like some of the temples we visited in BC...um except x1000 :-) Weather sure does look nice there, don't even want to tell you want it's like here...
