Week Five Check In
26 sleeps to go - since I am posting at dinner time today. First off, I want to wish my sister a very Happy Birthday today. Enjoy it cause you start holding next year!
I think all the craziness has come to a halt. We are no longer running around like chickens trying to get things done by said deadlines. I can report that our Travel Visas have been reviewed/processed and will be returned to us by Tuesday. We also got notice that our Notice of Travel papers have arrived at CB and will be sent to us next week ( I think they need translating). I haven't begun packing at this point and I really don't want to start too soon. We only have one spare room in the house to pile things in and I still need space to dry my sweaters. I am, however, still working on the lists. I really think that I am going to use the tips from this link to maximize the space in our suitcases- 10 Days in a Carry On. I tried this on our Girls' Weekend in Ottawa and was quite surprised at how much I could pack into my little suitcase.
We still have a bit of stuff to buy in preparation of the biggest trip of our lives, but I am not worried. I know it will all come together in time. We've been slowly picking things up over the last month. Just last weekend, we bought a laptop backpack for Scott to use as his carry-on and a carry case for the Windows Tablet. Unfortunately, the case is the wrong size so we are going to exchange it. I also bought a new toiletries kit to replace my old one. I am just finding it too big. I rarely pack it inside my suitcase anymore and don't want to use up the valuable real estate. (We can only have one checked bag each. :p)
At this time, I hope that Molly has received our care package and has been able to see the photos we sent. I really miss the Pink Bear too! I was so used to seeing it in our room and now it's weird not being there. It's about 6am on Saturday morning there now. She will probably be waking up soon - ready to take on another day! I also wonder about how the foster family is doing - knowing that she will be leaving them soon. I really hoped to keep in touch with them but that door appears to be closing. We were advised that they will not allow us to meet Molly's foster family. At first, I was a bit afraid to meet them but now I am just sad that we can't. I would really like to find out as much as we can about Molly and they would have been a great source. We were told to ask our guide once we are in-country. Perhaps there is a slim chance they will allow us the opportunity. I am still debating about preparing a small thank you gift for them. Maybe the guide can arrange for it to be delivered. Guess we will have to wait and see.

How very exciting! I'm chuckling at your drying space room: just wait'll Molly takes that over (and she will! and you won't even care!). Nice thing about suitcases: on the return, Molly's allowed her own, which means you can add a bag and all the souvenirs to fill it.
I'd say prepare the thank you gift for her foster family, and try to get it to them: even if it doesn't get to them, at least you'll have the comfort of having tried to express your gratitude. Hope you can meet them - it was great to meet our little one's care providers, even though they didn't share any specific information for either of our two. It was still nice to lay eyes on them, and smile our gratitude.
