Six years ago today, our adoption application completed its round the world journey and was officially entered into the CCAA system. Happy Anniversary to us!
On the one hand it seems like a lifetime ago, completing our homestudy and feverishly reading every adoption book recommended. We were in parent mode. Two months later, China announced changes to the program and that delays would be inevitable. Life continued and the honeymoon was back on. We started cycling, travelled and moved to our current home.
Today, we find ourselves back in parent mode. We finally started to read "the Binder" from Children's Bridge. It's a 4 inch binder chalked full of information. There is also a VHS video. Thank god we still own a VCR!
The nursery, as previously blogged about, is nearly complete. Scott is researching baby gear and four door cars. Anyone want to buy a used 2007
Hyundai Accent? We tried to get Nolan's carseat in the backseat and we couldn't use it rear-facing. Now that we are getting closer, we decided to find something that would get better gas mileage than the truck. Vrroomm vrroomm!
For now, we wait for the latest announcement on referrals and hope for a big batch.
